It grieves me to post that Carol Ledford passed away on September 9 th.
Since meeting Carol in 2001, we had been very frequent birding companions.
Mostly in OR and WA, but also in CA and HI.

For many years we had been on the same volunteer team at Ridgefield NWR for Fall/Winter goose surveys, and also for Spring/Summer neotropical migrant surveys.

Carol was a knowledgeable birder. She a was friendly and very helpful birder to nearly everyone she crossed paths with, whether here in the USA, or on her many international birding outings.
In addition to Birds, Carol Ledford was also an quite interested in Butterflies, Dragonflies, Damselflies, and most any other insects we came across or that she chased on her own.If there is an afterlife, Carol is there with binoculars, camera, and her odonata net.
She was a dear Friend, and she will be deeply missed.
