I was walking on Bayocean Spit in Tillamook Co, OR on Thursdaybaround 2pm and noticed 100s of dragonflies moving south along the top of the west dunes, before the beach on the ocean side.
They were quite noticeably numerous on the road out to the parking area as well. They appeared to be Common Green Darners, but didn't land on anything for a closer look.
Curiously, they were mostly absent on Netarts Spit, a few miles to the south. Maybe had to go inland to avoid flying over the Cape Meares headland.
There were noticeably less Brown Pelicans on the coast compared to previous years. Walt Kuciej Seattle WA
