Hi, Tweets,

It being plover appreciation day (really), I went looking, but didn't find any (not even Killdeer). I did see one Western Sandpiper and one Wilson's Snipe at the mouth of the Cedar River this morning. Also dozens of Barn and nearly as many Violet-green Swallows, plus a couple of Cliff, one continuing Bank Swallow, and one Vaux's Swift.

I tried visiting nearby Longacres, which used to be a known birding spot, but found all access blocked by authorized personnel only signs. I've seen recent reports; is it possible to gain access, or was that staff on birding breaks?
