The walking trail at the south end of Capitol Lake, connecting to Tumwater Historical Park is once more open after all the remediation for the PCB contamination. We took our first walk there since it was closed in February this morning. Walking from Tumwater Historical Park, one of the first birds we saw was a Great Egret, just south of the I-5 bridge near the curve in the Deschutes River. A great way to celebrate our first walk since the closure. (Also, there is a Greater White-Fronted Goose palling around with the Canada Geese.)
