Foggy and cool (45degF) at the start, but it cleared and warmed up (65degF) toward the end, with no wind or rain for the dozen of us that walked the edges of JBLM's Eagles Pride Golf Course today finding 35 species (not including the three black-tailed deer and multiple Douglas squirrels). Ducks showed up (WOOD DUCK, MALLARD, RING-NECKED DUCK, and GREEN-WINGED TEAL), along with an astounding number of STELLER'S JAYS (26). Other noteworthies include two immature RED-TAILED HAWKS sitting side-by-side; five COMMON RAVENS; and season-first RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, and LINCOLN and GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS.



The JBLM Eagles Pride GC birders meet the third Thursday of each month at 8:00AM. Starting point is Bldg # 1514, Driving Range Tee, Eagles Pride Golf Course, I-5 Exit 116, Mounts Road Exit. Upcoming walks include the following:
