Seeing all of the public parks, ocean beaches being closed, it feels like a
new type of Tragedy of the Commons. Going out into wide open spaces to enjoy
fresh air and the sight and sounds of birds shouldn't be a great risk for
disease transmission. But, because our public areas draw so much love and
attention, particularly now, with so much shut down, the number of people
enjoying our Commons constitutes a risk. It's sad. I'm going out to places
that aren't open to the public and I don't see others. It's fine but I wish
I could go to an ocean beach.

Staying home, mostly, enjoying the birds coming to the suet and the
incessant calls of the Hutton's Vireos that have seemingly popped up out of
nowhere in the past month.
