Crows and ravens will be likely to spot some object that appeals to
them, fly away with it, and either take to nest or drop it when they
spot something new. That might be interpreted as gifting... At Los
Alamos LASL golf course there is a special rule for golfers: if a raven
steals your ball you can drop another without penalty. (LASL now known
as LANL, Los Alamos National Laboratory)
