I had a surprise about a half hour ago, a block and a half from home: a Chipping Sparrow at 11th and Roy on Capitol Hill (!). I don't always see them every year in town, and never before in this neighborhood. Plus, I hadn't seen reports, so wasn't expecting them.

I've got a Song Sparrow on eggs at home, and Merlins making noise several blocks farther north (also new).
