Tweets,
I've been seeing lots of news film on wildlife in cities, now that human and vehicular traffic is way down due to the Covid 19 quarantines. This morning I had an incident here. I live in a condo development that sits just off Hwy 522 close to Yakima Fruit Market in Bothell. I was heading out early to Bartell's for "old peoples' hour" and as I was about to pull onto 522 a Bald Eagle dropped out of the trees across the street, just above and in front of my car, with legs down and talons out. It hovered for a moment, then swooped down into the turn lane and scooped up what I assume was a rat-;it had a long tail anyway. You just don't realize how big these birds are until they are almost "on" you, which this one was! It was rush hour, but with no rush--except for that eagle hitting the road then flying off with a talon-full.
