We have been enjoying the warbler migration at our Sammamish home this week.
The Yellow-rumped Warblers began trickling in Wednesday, then reached a
crescendo yesterday with surely a hundred plus feeding in our yard trees.
All gone today, but as they have been arriving mid-afternoon I expect
another surge later today.

The one warbler still present this morning was a breeding plumage male, very
nice. But it surprised us by visiting our feeder. Now even our grandchildren
know that warblers don't eat seeds... but then it dropped to the lawn grass
under the feeder. As it was pecking around there we realized it had
discovered the fragments of suet spread there by messy flickers feeding
earlier on the suet block above. These little guys are survivors, and they
don't miss a thing!
