Newly retired, I was expanding my bird curiosity beyond my neighborhood.
Tweeters, bless them, were talking about a Snowy Owl irruption, so I headed
for the Skagit. A glimpse of white out in a distant field would bring me
to a stop, and out would come the binoculars. Amazing the number of white
5 gallon buckets a birder can find while searching for a Snowy Owl. It was
extra-special when I finally found one that day. I still spot white
buckets on fence posts and they still make me smile.
