For the second day a male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD has been at our feeders on Mt. Pleasant, Skamania County at the west end of the Columbia River Gorge. While officially in western Washington the Gorge's near sea-level passage through the Cascade Mountains makes this an annual visitor to our feeders and this is our second sighting this year. Also for the second day a BARRED OWL continued to call from our woods today, a new bird for my property list although Susan had a pair calling here about five years ago when I was on a birding trip. We had a couple of dozen ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS pass through today but few other migrants yet. Wilson Cady
