We took a walk to Dumas Bay Sanctuary in Federal Way today. The tide was
quite far out and on the tidal flats was a large flock of Bonaparte's
Gulls. I estimated it to be well over 1.000 birds. There was a constant
coming and going and some of them were bathing.
In addition there were several Caspian Terns flying about and fishing.
There also is a small flock of American Wigeons remaining, while they have
left our lakes more than a week ago. Also at Dumas Bay: 3 Great Blue
Herons, an Osprey, a pair of Bald Eagles fighting and a Belted Kingfisher
hovering.
