Hey All,

Today Peter Wimberger and I did something of a shorebird big day in Grays
Harbor county. We covered a large portion of the county and ended up with
18 species of shorebird - a decent tally for this time of year. However,
total numbers and diversity did seem to be quite low at each site,
apparently there was not much movement today.

We did have one major standout today, a flyover flock of seven HUDSONIAN
GODWITS at bottle beach. A total shock and state bird for both of us. They
were headed East and we only saw them briefly before they disappeared.
While obviously not chaseable today, it is worth keeping an eye out for
them in the area. Also, if you are interested in going to bottle beach, the
parking lot may be closed for a day or two as they are doing some minor
construction work.

Good Birding,
