Several years ago I stopped using spot flea treatments for my dog and cats. The main ingredient in them is a neonick. At that time the literature seemed to stress it was safe for the pet and its owner and stopped at that. But even then it seemed the data showed it wasn't much good for the environment. If you are using flea and tick medicine, I strongly suggest you do your own research to see what's in the stuff you are using and whether you should continue to use it.
