Single Cedar Waxwing appeared briefly at one of our bird baths, darted
into shrub and has not yet returned. Each year, there seems to be a
pattern where it looks like a "scout" will show up a couple of times,
followed in a day or so with a flock. There is a very large holy next
door which, as berries ripen, gets a lot of their attention. Last year
I actually got a photo of a pair of them pulling tufts of cotton out of
a cotton dispenser we hang in a tree; each would take so much it looked
that they would not be able to see in order to navigate!
