A quick note on regrowth in the previous fires near Tiffany Mountain. I make a point to spend a couple of days in this area each year. While there certainly isn't a restored forest yet, many of the young Lodgepole pine is head high or in many places 10-15 tall, so the regrowth is starting but like you point out it will still be decades before the forest resembles preview conditions.
For people exploring that area, it is worth watching for Northern hawk-owl as there have been a few sightings in this larger fire area over the years, breeding documented at least once.
