I visited Nisqually on 19 Aug. From the boardwalk trail I saw a group of three mergansers that I took as red-breasted, based on wispy crests on pale reddish heads and thin bills, rather than crestless rich brown heads and thicker bills. I believe that they were reported on eBird as commons, so I may be mistaken.

The field southeast of the board walk was being mowed, and the commotion drove several sparrows to the corner near the trail, including a vesper among the few Savannah's. The white outer feathers (seen as the bird landed) on a tail longer than savannah, and paler breast streaks, were distinctive.
