We used to have them at our suet feeder on the 3rd-floor deck of an
apartment in Kirkland. It was in the back of the building, facing the
woods. We're on Fidalgo Island now, where it's a lot less suburban and
we've seen the Pileated at our suet here, too. They are intense-looking
birds! We love seeing them. So glad you were there at the right time!
