Hi Teresa -
I too had a 'mundane' species for my First of the New Year: the Oregon Junco that came to the feeder area with the dawn with a dozen of her closest friends.
This is the first time in a few years that I have not been up and going in the pre-dawn, to have the back yard Barred Owl asking who my breakfast chef would be . . . . "Who cooks for you?"
