Subject: [Tweeters] hummer hordes

For those who responded to my post with photos of hordes of hummers at your feeders, I envy you.  The more the merrier, for what is bird watching without lots of birds to watch?

Both of my feeders are on my back deck and only about  ten feet apart.  A hummer perched in strategic shrubs in my back yard can keep an eye on both feeders at once.
The greatest number of hummers I have seen perched on one of my feeders at once has been two.  As others have pointed out, this has occurred during a cold morning truce, when the hummers apparently decided it was not worth the extra energy to chase off a rival when there was plenty of food for both birds.

Photos and further narrative of an encounter last February can be seen starting at post #16 on page 1 of this thread and continuing through post #18.
