My 1st bird was a Mourning Dove which is a 1st, too. Usually it's a Great-horned Owl or a Varied Thrush (sometimes a Dark-eyed Junco or Song Sparrow).

The wind prevented the hearing of any owls and kept us from using electrical power for 14 hours.

1st mammal- deer.
