I remember a home in Hayak near the summit of Snoqualmie pass.  They had lots of feader (10-15) hanging from the south facing wall of the house.  You could often see 50 or so hummingbirds feeding at any one time during the summer.  My conclusion was that if there wasn't limited resources, all the birds were happy.  If you spread 3 or 4 feeders out you could encourage nesting close by.
