Subject: [Tweeters] Walla Walla County New Years Day results

Hello all,

Twenty-eight folks were out looking for birds on January 1 - an
exceptionally warm but VERY windy day. 60 degrees and sunny but the wind
really kept the passerines down. 106 species were found - down from last
year. Blue Jay and 3 Anna's Hummers were reported in town, 1 "interior"
race Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch was found up on Dent Rd - unusual species
in this county and unusual spot to see it.

Walla Walla county ended 2019 with 267 species - beating our record by
3. Worst miss of the year was Marbled Godwit. Best bird of the year was
the LeConte's Sparrow.

Happy 2020 birding, M&ML
