Hello everyone,

as birders, we know that the best-known group of animals is birds. But did
you know that there are still 5 or 6 new species described every year since
1999? Well, a team of researchers just described TEN new species and
subspecies of songbirds from a very tiny, restricted area in Wallacea, just
off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. Not only did they surpass the annual
average of new birds described in the first few days of 2020, but they also
adopted a combination of history and island biogeography to help them make
this discovery before they ever set foot on these difficult-to-access
