I am profoundly saddened by this news. Paul and Barbara lived in North Admiral, as I did before moving to Mexico, and we shared great times together - birding, eating homemade pizzas and enjoying a Manhattan or two, reminding each other of books read and New Yorker cartoons that we laughed at. I always said I was book poor until I saw their collection. Paul and I carpooled to our Master Birder classes and when each of us almost dropped out before the start of the second year we bucked each other up and graduated together. And during my divorce he bucked me up again. I couldn't have made it without his support. During these past couple of years, I hadn't been able to spend much time with them, but I had a lovely visit with them this past summer. In spite of his health issues, his wit and twinkle of his eyes showed the spirit I knew. I am so glad he called me a friend. RIP Paul.
