> Speaking of bird guides in Texas, Karen and I had a very memorable experience while hoping to find a Red-headed Woodpecker. We used Birders Dashboard as our guide in Texas (and elsewhere)

My first thought was it was nice that a son was taking his Dad birding. We told them that we were hoping to see a Red-headed Woodpecker. They said that they could help us with that. Off we went. I was walking with the "Dad" who was an extremely nice person. He introduced himself. "I'm Victor Emanuel". Whoa! Fortunately I had heard of Victor Emanuel and his nature tours

> He and the younger man were scouting for a tour to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his company. We have never been on a VENT tour, but we have been guided by Victor Emanuel, a very humble, pleasant person. Within a few minutes we had a Red-headed Woodpecker in view.

>> A friend and I are thinking of spending a week in this area, but I cannot make plans as I don't have a clue what guide includes this area. Theres one on Rio Grande, and several others, so which includes that area?

>> Thank you for your help in this matter.
