I'm in South Snohomish county and have just observed something I've never seen before: two golden crowned kinglets feeding a fledgling, which appears and sounds like a spotted towhee. It's been going on for about 15 minutes. Needless to say, the fledgling is very insistent and kinglets are Responding with alacrity.

Also, I typically have lots of golden crowned kinglets in my backyard spruce tree but they have been absent for over a month while the chestnut backed chickadees were in high population. In the past two days, the kinglets are back in full force. Do they go somewhere Other than their typical territory to breed?

Thanks.
