The other day coming up from my ground level living area for a morning cup of coffee one of my moms caretakers was at the kitchen table and asked me "hey, do you want to hear my story !." "Sure " I said.

This lady lives in a trailer just outside of town and woke up to some loud kerfuffle going on just out side the trailer door. Imagine her surprise upon opening the door to see a large Bald eagle takeoff from a big pile of feathers scattered all over the ground, a chicken disappearing under the trailer, her cat hissing from under a truck nearby and some ravens chase off the eagle. She checked out the chicken which although about totally de-plumaged, including tail, was still alive.

Managing to find the owners down the road aways, she returned it. Two week later it was fine, and even growing new feathers. Do chickens get PTSD? I would imagine if they do then this has a pretty good case.

The young eagles next door (although really a block away seem next door since they're so damn loud) have moved out into the tree grove and one even achieved a long glide out to the wild blue yonder. How exciting! They were so loud that they even achieved an echo off of the three-story façade of Manresa Castle one block uphill .
