Hi all -
Passing along word that on Friday evening a Scarlet Tanager showed up at a private residence on Camano Island [Island County] . The observer was able to get nice photos. Saturday, the bird wasn't relocated, so this isn't likely a chaseable bird, but if you happen to be birding near Camano Island, keep an eye out for a bright red bird! This would be a state first record for WA, and the timing is similar to most of Oregon's records, where 4 of their 6 records fall between the last week of May and the first two weeks of June.
