Subject: [Tweeters] Curious crow behavior

We have a pair of crows nesting in our neighborhood, defending the area
from gulls and other hazards. Monday I watched two crows on a wire
observing a second pair collecting long grass pieces from the ground. Could
this be a second round of nesting? Any other possible reason for this
behavior? (I wasn't close enough to see if any of the birds were
youngsters.)

We also have seen fledglings of many species in the past few days--Song
Sparrows, Dark-eyed Juncos, Black-capped Chickadees, House Finches, and
Bushtits.
