Hi everyone,

The Wildlife Conservation Trust <https://wildlifeconservationtrustpnw.org/>
and Pilchuck Audubon Society <https://www.pilchuckaudubon.org/> have
partnered to update the 2007 Great Blue Herons in Puget Sound
<http://www.pugetsoundnearshore.org/technical_papers/herons.pdf> assessment
and we are requesting help from the public in locating colonies and
collecting information on them.

If you know of a heron colony and are able to visit it safely, we have
developed an online form that you can submit your observations and data on
to help our efforts. Right now the most important information is
determining the locations of the colonies. We would like other information,
such as number of herons at the colony, number of nests, number of
fledglings, etc., but this late in the year trees have already leafed out
and that information may be difficult to collect. With that in mind, we are
also looking for folks who would be interested in helping us monitor these
colonies on a longer-term basis. So if you would be interested in helping
out in a long-term capacity, please let me know.

For more information on the project:

To submit your colony locations and information using the online form:

If you have any questions please email me directly and not the whole
listserv.

Thanks!
Brian
