Hi, Tweets,

Yes, that's plural. Maybe it's not news, but today is the first time I've seen more than one Black Phoebe round here in a day. There were at least three at the 212th Street ponds in Kent this early afternoon: one flycatching at the small pond near the parking spot, and a pair flycatching from perches in the middle of the bigger pond. I went back and forth a few times, and all were still there every time, with no long flights away seen.

I also got to _see_ an American Bittern, a Virginia Rail (foraging along an edge), a half dozen Wilson's Snipe (a couple of which made rail-like short flights with landings on cattail debris next to dense cattails), three Cinnamon Teal, and a couple dozen Violet-green Swallows, all by quietly walking the gravel and paved paths. I found no shorebirds, though, in the fields. A quick check up at 204th Street added Eurasian Wigeon and Common Merganser. (Hooded was at both sites.) I call that a successful outing.
