I live about six miles downriver from Crescent Lake near Bob Heirman
Wildlife Park. The swans have been thinning out for quite a while but I've
definitely noticed an uptick in Tundra Swan numbers over the past few
weeks. I can usually pick out a few in the huge groups (500+ at peak) which
fly over our house each morning and evening on their way to roost in Shadow
Lake, but I've typically only noticed larger concentrations of Tundra's in
November when they're presumably passing through on their way south. On
Wednesday a group of 21 swans landed in the river adjacent to my house to
bathe and roost. I was surprised to find they were all Tundra Swans.

In other news, I spotted the Mountain Bluebird that's been hanging out
around Shorts School Rd since 2/27 this afternoon.
