In response to growing concerns about the spread of the coronavirus, the
Makah Tribal Council recently acted to limit or close access by non-members
to tribal properties and businesses on the Makah Reservation. Their action
is effective until further notice. Their website provides some additional
details.

Affected areas include Hobuck Beach, the Cape Flattery Trail, the Shi Shi
Beach Trail, and the Museum. Birders who are considering a trip out there
may want to check with Tribal officials for additional details. It appears
that some good birding areas are still accessible, at least at present.
