>> Today we birded Tokul Creek and found a pair of American Dippers up the tributary that flows from the fish hatchery to Tokul Creek. Previously we have only seen them in Tokul Creek or the Snoqualmie River, not up that tributary.

>> Regarding birding and social distancing we started voluntary isolation on 2/29 when we decided not to attend a grandson's birthday party and continued it in March by using FaceTime on Karen's 75th birthday rather than seeing family in person, even at a distance. We don't even attempt to bird at places like Marymoor or Juanita. We have left Stillwater and the Redmond Retention Ponds without getting out of the car when we saw other people present. We have also left sites if other people arrive. We had educations and careers that enable us to completely understand the importance of lowering and lengthening the Coronavirus incidence curve to reduce the impact of Coronavirus on the healthcare system. All that being said we are grateful and relieved that Governor Inslee recognized the importance of outdoor activites such as bicycling, hiking, walking and presumably birding if they are done in a safe manner.
