The governor issued a stay-at-home order for Washington: https://www.governor.wa.gov/sites/default/files/proclamations/20-25%20Coronovirus%20Stay%20Safe-Stay%20Healthy%20%28tmp%29%20%28002%29.pdf: All people in Washington State shall immediately cease leaving their home or place of residence except: (1) to conduct or participate in essential activities, and/or (2) for employment in essential business services. This prohibition shall remain in effect until midnight on April 6, 2020, unless extended beyond that date. There is explanatory material at https://medium.com/wagovernor/inslee-announces-stay-home-stay-healthy-order-4891a7511f5e if "stay at home" is not clear enough.

For the sake of the medical care workers, and the people who have been laid off and don't know when they are getting paid again, and the people you may infect by defying this order, PLEASE STAY HOME. It is, for this one instant in time, NOT ABOUT YOU.

If you are breaking the order, you SHOULD feel guilty. The people where you went birding DO NOT WANT YOU THERE. The only reason you had 20 feet of separation is that many others are making the sacrifice of staying home.

The trip reports are ruining TWEETERS for me. I'm up stewing at 3:30 a.m. over the arrogance, selfishness and privilege of the posters talking about their violations of the "stay home, stay healthy" order. The people who are sharing from their backyard birding experiences and photo archives are one of the few moments of joy during these days of confinement. If you can't just STAY HOME, at least be quiet about it and don't ruin tweeters with your smug reports of breaking the law.

Except for groceries every 7-10 days, medical appointments that can't be rescheduled, and an occasional breath of fresh air in your neighborhood, STAY HOME.

Oh, and one last thing: STAY HOME. For the people sharing their backyard birding and archival photos: thank you, thank you, thank you.
