I've finally started reading

How Darwin's Forgotten Theory of Mate Choice Shapes the Animal World -- and Us_
by Richard O. Prum, 2017.

I knew Rick from graduate school. He's definitely a birder, as he makes clear in the book, and draws many examples from birds. (There are five species of manakins on the cover.) I'm liking it. I'm now far enough removed from evolution academia that I hadn't realized I favored such an unpopular idea.
