Greetings Tweeters,
Regarding the American Avocets, we made two passes today 5/1/20 from the top of Edie Road to the end of the walk (approximately .5 each way), no American Avocets found.
Our 1st pass was from 2:45 to 3:30pm. Winds were likely between 12-15mph or higher. Using binoculars at times was challenging.
We decided to do a few local errands and return again for the full 1 mile walk from 4:45 to 5:30pm, once again without success on the American Avocets.
Winds were noticeably calmer during this time and we noted many more dabbling ducks as well as a large group of peeps that flew in (likely 100 or so) on the NW end of the road as we were exiting.
Mud flats and tide pools were about the same in both time sequences.
Happy Birding,
Anthony G.

At mid-day today there are 7 American Avocets at Eide Rd. They are using the first muddy area near the parking lot.
Good birding
