Tweeters,
Two weeks ago, a small flock of Evening Grosbeaks showed up at our home in Roy. (We had one bird arrive on 1/12, but for only one day.) That small flock has grown to about 24 of this species. Combined with the 20+ Pine Siskins and 15+ American Goldfinches, we've been going through 40 pounds of black oilseed every other day. (We have 17 tube and hopper feeders set up around the property.)

New birds for the year continue to show up, with a singing Black-headed Grosbeak being the latest yesterday (5/1). Other recent FOYs include the following:
Wilson's Snipe - 4/7
House Wren - 4/25
Hermit Thrush - 4/20
Chipping Sparrow - 4/17
Brown-headed Cowbird - 4/20
Common Yellowthroat - 4/17
Wilson's Warbler - 4/30

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
