I think the same bird came back and I got a better look. It is a Chipping Sparrow. I have never seen one of those here. The first time, I thought I saw a really distinctive red spot on its head with no white streak down the middle. Unless it's a different bird, this time it's a Chipping Sparrow. Oops.

I saw my first ever Common Redpoll today on my deck under a mixed seed feeder about a half mile west of the Point No Point lighthouse.
