Subject: [Tweeters] Avian alarm clock

I read somewhere that flickers will not do that activity near where they feed. I used to get the same morning wake up calls on my gutters, but they seemed to stop after I hung up  a suet feeder, which the flickers use, on the shed on my back yard.

A cooper's hawk knocking one off on the sidewalk across the street two years ago may also have discouraged them from advertising their presence too loudly.
