This morning I found a shorebird that puzzled me. There were two Solitarys and 5 Spotted Sandpipers near. This bird did not have a eye ring and wasn't a Spotty. My thought went to Wood Sandpiper. Took photos. Ed Pullen and Shep Thorp arrived.
Many photos and video. Dennis Paulson said it's a Wood Sandpiper.
Directions: Fife, get off I 5 at 20th Street . Continuing to Sportco, turn right on Frank Albert, cross railroad bridge, park on right in a gravel area. Walk diagonally southwest towards railroad tracks, several ponds that are drying up will be visible, continue to a hedge row and look at a larger water area. This is were the shorebirds have been.
Still questionable but looks good.
