Tweets, looking for a bit of help on this one, sounds a bit like a Bobwhite with bad laryngitis or one that's gone mad (understandable these days) . The recording was made up above Liberty a couple of weeks ago at about 4000 feet in the mixed mainly Ponderosa forest with brushy understory. This was was in the brushy part of the equation (or at least that's where it appeared to come from) just at the edge of the treed area. It called twice in the two hours I was there, that's it, no more. Lets see it was 7:43 PM so it was starting to get dark.
