For me Swainson's Thrush put an exclamation point on the end of the spring migration every year since they are the latest birds to return up here. Last evening I stood out on my west deck and heard two calling from the forest down below the house. As more return there'll be more evening rising spiral songs to hear.

Yesterday two more Turkey Vultures wobbled their way north over the house. On Wednesday about 8 flew down into the Tahuya Valley below my house but I couldn't see where they were going. They did not come back out while I was outside.
