I got a good look at a Virginia Rail this morning at about 9:30. It was on
a little trail that goes west from pedestrian-only Frager Road which goes
along the west bank of the Green River, a short distance south of the
footbridge and 1/4 north of Veterans Drive. This marshland area is also a
good place to see Red Bellied Sapsuckers, woodpeckers, Yellowthroats,
Yellow Warblers, and many other birds. -- Phil Mattern
