Had a recently fledged Rufous do what a lot of the "newbies" do, fling
into the deck side of our veggie garden, then spotting the hummer feeder
and flying a direct course towards that, then encountering the deer
netting on one of the three remaining sides of the garden. He did a
little back and forth, then perched on that mesh for a minute, so I got
a portrait. It shows a bit of baby-bird fluff on his belly. For scale,
the mesh is half inch. We have a LOT of these and the Anna's this
season.
