Dear Tweeters - Yesterday, my husband Randy Robinson and I were at the
marsh on Frager Road in South King County. It was not crowded and was
pretty birdy. We saw Bullock's Oriole, Western Tanager, Warbling Vireo,
Black-headed Grosbeak, Yellow Warbler among other birds.

We heard two different bird sounds that we could not figure out. The
first was a very low-pitched sound that almost sounded like a cow
moo-ing at times. It seemed to come from the reeds of the marsh. Our
best guess was Great Blue Heron, but we were far from certain about that.

The second one was a straight-forward song that in some ways resembled
Bewick's Wren or Song Sparrow but didn't seem right for either.

If you know what these sounds are, please email me and let me know and I
will get back to the list with the consensus IDs.

Be sure to turn your sound up all the way, because these are rather soft
sounds otherwise. And even when you do turn up all the way, you will
have to listen closely to hear the low-pitched sound.
