Dear Tweeters -- Earlier I asked for help identifying two bird sounds
that my husband Randy Robinson and I heard Tuesday at the Riverview
Marsh just off Frager Road in South King County.

I quickly got 13 responses to my query, and all 13 said that the first
one was a bullfrog. Twelve of the 13 said the second one was a Bewick's
Wren. Apparently Bewick's Wrens have a fair amount of variation in their
songs.

One person whom I won't name since I did not ask his permission to quote
him said: "I have a little saying that I repeat, mostly to myself; if I
hear an unfamiliar, strange bird sound, and I'm up in the Cascades, it's
probably a Canada Jay. If I'm in the lowlands, it's probably a Bewick's
Wren."
