A beautiful day At Deer Lagoon, Whidbey Island. Water is filling with 100s
of wigeons, pintails, and buffleheads. Best birds of the day were two
western meadowlarks in the driftwood on the sand spit at entrance of Deer
Lagoon as it empties into Useless Bay. Also on the sandbars just offshore
were 120+ Bonaparte gulls. Inside the estuary were black-bellied plovers
and dunlins. The birds are coming in.
